About Bergara Barreled Actions
Bergara is offering four different barreled action families, short and long actions, each with their own purpose, barrel length, and caliber options.
We recently published a full feature on the Premier Action as part of a 7mm SAUM build.
From Bergara:

For years, we’ve been asked if Bergara offers Premier Series Actions or Barreled Actions, and until now, the answer has been no. But due to popular demand, we’ve ramped up production to bring you exactly what you’ve been waiting for: the freedom to build your rifle, your way, with Bergara’s Premier Series Actions and Barreled Actions!
Available now, our Premier Actions are precision-crafted in the USA from 416 Stainless Steel, designed to fit most Remington 700 style stocks and chassis. These actions feature an enlarged bolt handle, spiral-fluted body, dual ejector, sliding plate extractor, and are compatible with Rem 700 style scope bases with an 8-40 screw pattern.
For our barreled actions, choose from four barrel contour options, including our 416 Stainless Steel Bergara Barrel and lightweight CURE carbon fiber barrel, offered in a variety of calibers and barrel lengths. This selection allows you to build a rifle that’s perfectly tailored to your specifications.
6GT Bill of Materials
Of all the options, I settled on the Bergara Premier No.7 Contour chambered in 6GT. This 416 Stainless Steel Bergara Barrel measures 26” and is threaded ⅝-24 with a thread protector. Bergara says it is a “heavy-profile barrel built for competition, featured on the Comp Rifle, delivers maximum stability, heat management, and accuracy in high-round-count scenarios.”

After my positive experience at the Leupold Optics Academy, I selected the new Leupold 6-24×52 Mark 4HD with Mark 4 rings for this build. I paired this with a Bix’n Andy Remington 700 TacSport PRO-X Trigger from Bullet Central, Hawkins M5 DBM, and a 30 MOA rail, all in a Foundation Genesis 2 Stock.
The unique micarta construction and precision machining of the Genesis 2 meant that I didn’t need to bed the stock. Some will argue this point, but I’ve never found it necessary with this rigid material.
I also added an Area 419 HELLFIRE muzzle brake.
Shooting
I sighted this rifle in at 100 yards in heavy snow and had zero feeding issues. It took only a few shots to get on target and I was very happy with the first groups. Four shots measured 0.2” at 100 yards with a fifth flyer bringing it to 0.6”. I used handloads with Berger 6mm 105 Grain Hybrid Target Bullets.
Collin Russell and I loaded up some Hornady 6mm 110 Grain A-Tips over Hodgdon H4350 and tried them out the next day. I had decided to try the A-Tips after their performance through my 6mm x 47 build. Five shots at 100 yards measured 0.329”, traveling 2,827 fps with a 7.0 fps SD.
Conclusion
Bergara’s new barreled actions allow anyone to put together their own Bergara with exactly the parts they desire while eliminating the need for machining and gunsmithing. While consumers could always just buy a Bergara rifle, sometimes there’s a specific stock you want to build around, leaving the factory one idle.
