The best part is that all accessories are included from the start, no need to have to separately purchase expensive additional accessories.

  • Outside Deburr Tool
  • Primer Pocket Uniformer (Large & Small)
  • Primer Pocket Reamer (Large & Small)
  • Primer Pocket Cleaner (Large & Small)

Using the Case Prep Xpress

The great thing about the Case Trim Xpress, is that you can have up to five case prep tools spinning at the same time! Utilizing standard #8-32 threaded case prep tools means this machine is compatible with most any accessories you’ll want to use regardless of the brand. Here’s how I setup the Case Prep Xpress:

As seen in the video, I re-arranged the tools (from my initial setup) so that I could do all of the mouth-end operations first, and then all of the primer pocket operations second:

  1. Neck brush
  2. Outside chamfer/debur
  3. Inside chamfer/debur
  4. Primer pocket ream (removes crimp for military brass)
  5. Primer pocket clean

In addition, in the above picture, you can see how I used the built-in storage stations for case prep brushes and cutters. This makes the Case Prep Xpress a self-contained unit that you can easily move up to a shelf, down in to a drawer, etc. Overall I really like how this tool works, how quiet it is, and the fact that all of the shavings fall down into a built-in tray on the top of the unit. Very well thought out.

  1. I have had the Lyman Case Prep machine for several years and have prepped thousands of cases with it. Love it!! Would buy it again.

  2. Gavin, might I suggest you rearranging the bits again? lol Being right handed as well, maybe in the first spot, the one directly in front of the user try the inside case chamfer/debur bit, followed by the outside case chamfer/debur bit, then the case brush, then primer pocker reamer and in the last spot try the primer pocket cleaner? That way you’re not having to reach over the case brush when you use the primer pocket bits. Just a suggestion.

FWIW, I’ve got and currently use the RCBS Trim Mate Case Prep Center. Seems to work for my needs at the time being anyhow. I do like this Lyman though. I also like the Hornady case prep center.
