New Products from Vortex for 2016

Recently, I’ve become a big fan of Vortex Optics, specifically the Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50mm scope that I’ve been using on my Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. So what’s the latest and greatest from Vortex? Here’s a quick overview of some of the new products from Vortex for 2016.

Vortex Optics Razor HD LH Riflescopes

This new light-weight scope line packs the features that shooters have come to appreciate in Vortex HD (High Density) scopes: extra-low dispersion glass, APO apochromatic lens system, XR Plus fully multi-coated lenses, and ArmorTek on exterior glass surfaces. What I’m interested in checking out are the new HSR-4 BDC and G4-BDC reticles. This should be an interesting new optic!

Vortex Optics SPARC AR Red Dot Sight

I’ve come to favor red dot sights when shooting my “run-and-gun” style AR-15s. It’s really nice to have such a versatile sight on light-weight rifles like AR-15’s, and I appreciate the fast-action nature of the red dot sight design. For 2016, Vortex has introduced a new red dot sight to their product lineup: the SPARC AR.  This new red dot features unlimited eye relief, parallax free operation, 12-hour automatic shutdown (I LOVE that), a rubber coated housing, digital rear-facing controls, and much more. I think I need one of these!

Vortex Optics Spitfire AR

Designed for close-to-medium ranges where lighting conditions vary, this new riflescope finds a good balance of features from more traditional riflescopes (etched and illuminated reticle) and red dot sights (small form-factor). With a parallax free design, and rear-facing power and illumination controls, this scope is well suited for high-intensity action.

Vortex Optics Diamondback Binoculars

Re-designed for 2016, Vortex’s popular Diamondback line of binoculars builds on reputation this line of optics has established. New features and refinements include a new exterior design and look, enhanced ergonomics, and improved multi-coated optics which enhance low-light performance.

For 2016, these binoculars are available in the following configurations:

  • 12×50, 10×50
  • 10×42, 8×42
  • 10×32, 8×32
  • 10×28, 8×28

  1. Of course Vortex comes out with new Diamondbacks right after I just got my “old” ones in. I agree with you, Vortex makes top notch products and they’re very competitively priced too. Anyhow, I just wanted to let you know I love your site, keep up the good work.
