About Armanov Pistol Accessories
Armanov offers a variety of different grips and colors for a wide variety of pistols including SIG SAUER, HK, GLOCK, CZ, Canik, Beretta, and more.
We have a selection of 1911 pistol grips here as well as an Armanov GLOCK magazine base pad from their EDC collection.
Installation
For some time my 1911 has sported Hogue overmolded grips to accommodate my large hands.
I’m swapping them for some large, blue grips from Armanov’s SpidERGO II series. Armanov offers grips in several sizes — consult their guide for proper fit.
Grip installation was simple — remove the two screws on each grip, remove the panel, and swap it all out.
Armanov’s 1911 grips are asymmetric — each panel is slightly different from the other for improved ergonomics.
Everything fit perfectly indicating proper machining. They also enhanced the pistol’s appearance!
I decided to add one of Armanov’s base pads to my 17-round GLOCK 17 ProMag magazine.
The EDC #3 pad I have works for the G17, G19, and G34. I also have their EDC #2 compatible with the SIG SAUER P226, Canik TP9 (including TP9SFX and Rival-S), and Beretta 92/98 series.
Each Armanov base pad comes with a special clip and handy instructions.
Adding this base plate provides an additional two-round capacity.
Testing
The first time I dry-fired my 1911 with the Armanov grips, it was immediately obvious that they had greatly improved my ability to properly grip the pistol.
There was no slippage and the aggressive texturing is ideal for retaining traction in less than ideal conditions (weather, sweat, etc.).
I loaded my magazine with .45 ACP 230 grain ammo featuring Berry’s plated bullets for live-fire testing. I really liked the feel of the grips and how they swell to fit my palm.
Armanov’s EDC base pads are aluminum constructed with a carbide spike for breaking glass — a handy survival feature.
I loaded 19 rounds in my originally 17-round GLOCK magazine and found that 20 actually fit! All 20 rounds ran flawlessly.
Conclusion
Rifles garner far more of my attention than pistols, but this was a really fun and simple upgrade. Armanov’s accessories are also legal for a variety of competitive shooting disciplines making them ideal for a variety of purposes from plinking to self-defense.
