SHOT Show 2022: New Rifles from Bergara

While at the SHOT Show, we checked in with Bergara to see what they have in store for 2022, enjoy!

NEW: MGLite

We recently got our hands on an MGLite rifle, and it has been super-fun to shoot!

There’s no longer a need to compromise performance for weight! Introducing the Premier Series MgLite, featuring an ultra-lightweight XLR Element magnesium chassis and our proprietary CURE Carbon barrel, making this rifle the epitome of a lightweight, packable precision hunting rifle.

Think of our Premier Series as custom quality, but with standardized features for greater efficiencies in parts production and assembly – providing near custom performance at prices that are affordable to serious shooters. In the MgLite model, Bergara’s CURE Carbon Barrel is coupled with our proprietary Bergara PREMIER action, featuring a nonrotating gas shield, coned bolt nose, and sliding plate extractor.

This action is designed as a two-lug system that features a separate floating bolt head to ensure contact with the lug abutments in the action. It also features a cone-shaped bolt nose for smooth feeding of the cartridge, and a spring-loaded sliding plate extractor located in the front of the lower locking lug. The one-piece bolt body is stainless steel with a pad at the rear to accept the threaded-in bolt handle. The bolt head, the non-rotating gas shield, and the bolt shroud are fully Nitrided for extreme durability, as well as its self-lubricating properties.

The two-position safety is part of the trigger assembly, which is a TriggerTech Frictionless Release Technology trigger. One great feature of this combination allows the bolt handle not to lock in the closed position, which in turn allows the rifle to be unloaded while in the safe position. The MgLite offers two barrel lengths, 22″ and 24″.

The stock on the Bergara MgLite is an XLR Element 4.0 Magnesium chassis. It supports a fully free-floated barrel. The carbon fiber buttstock folds up for easy packing for any situation.

NEW: Divide

If you love the Bergara HMR but long for a lighter package to take into the backcountry, the Bergara Divide adds up to the solution. Bridging the divide between a tactical and hunting rifle, the Divide pairs Bergara’s proprietary CURE Carbon Barrels with a custom AG Composites Chalk Branch carbon stock. Summed up, the Divide equals an incredible precision carbon rifle package.

NEW: Canyon

If you prefer the classic fit and feel of a hunting rifle stock without the extra weight, the Premier Series Canyon rifle, built on a 100% carbon fiber AG Composites stock may be exactly what you are looking for. The No. 4 fluted barrel with the 5/8-24” threaded Omni brake allows reduced felt recoil when shooting the heavy-hitting caliber options. The M5 floor plate gives you the ability to customize with either the detachable magazine or a hinged floor plate. The Canyon rifle is the perfect balance of a lightweight and portable hunting rig!

Bergara’s Premium stainless steel barrels receive a proprietary honing process at our barrel-making facility in Bergara, Spain. Then, at the Bergara USA factory, the barrel receives a Sniper Grey Cerakote finish and is coupled with our proprietary Bergara PREMIER action, featuring a nonrotating gas shield, coned bolt nose, and sliding plate extractor.

The two-position safety is part of the trigger assembly, which in the Canyon rifle is a TriggerTech Frictionless Release Technology trigger. One great feature of this combination allows the bolt handle not to lock in the closed position, which in turn allows the rifle to be unloaded while in the safe position. The Canyon offers two barrel lengths, 20″ and 22″.

The stock on the Canyon is AG Composite 100% Carbon Fiber. It supports a fully free-floated barrel.
