The Problem with “Universal” Ammo Blocks

When it comes to loading blocks, you generally find products on two extreme ends of the spectrum. On one side, you have inexpensive, lightweight plastic blocks. While they are cheap and easy to store, they are almost always harder to work with. They are incredibly easy to bump, causing spilled powder or toppled brass. Furthermore, they usually utilize a “universal” fit, meaning your brass shakes and wobbles inside the oversized holes.

On the other side of the spectrum, you have heavy, machined aluminum blocks. While these are rock solid on the bench, they are very difficult to move around, hard to store, and often impractical for the average reloader’s budget and workflow.
