Though designed to promote long-range accuracy, the WOOX Exactus isn’t exclusively for long range rigs. I upgraded a Ruger 10/22 with this stock and couldn’t be happier with the results!

About the WOOX Exactus
This ambidextrous drop-in stock combines a AA7075 hard-anodized aluminum chassis with American walnut.

It has a 13.5” length of pull which can be adjusted with separately-sold spacers. An adjustable cheek riser allows the shooter to fine-tune head position.
From WOOX:

Precision-engineered for long-range shooting with a sophisticated wooden exterior and robust internal chassis core.

MADE for ultra-precise long range 1000 yds builds.
Accuracy at a thousand yards is art and transferring the intentions of a shooter to a bullet destined for that distance requires an exacting platform. That’s why WOOX made the Exactus.Based on a forged aluminum monoblock chassis with precision-cut contact points of American walnut, the Exactus is a professional, tactical stock. Proudly made in Italy and USA.
While this is the first time we’ve put a WOOX stock on a rimfire rifle, we’ve used the Exactus before in a centerfire 300 WSM build.
Upgrading the Rifle
I’ve owned a vintage 1966 Ruger 10/22 for many years, but wanted to keep it intact so I purchased a new model.

The factory 10/22 I selected, Model 32024, has a ½”-28 threaded bull barrel, adjustable ghost ring rear sight and front sight, Picatinny rail, and 13.75” length of pull.

This model includes a factory BX trigger with a pull of 2.5 – 3.0 lbs.— much lighter than most Ruger 10/22s. You all know 2.5 lbs. is still too heavy for my liking, so I added a drop-in trigger from KIDD Innovative Designs. The KIDD trigger was the lightest 10/22 trigger I could find, with a pull weight of 1.5 lbs. and an extended magazine release.

The WOOX Exactus not only transformed the appearance but expanded its functionality. M-LOK along the forend allowed for easy addition of an ARCA rail.

The original Hogue overmolded 10/22 stock from the factory model only had a front sling swivel and I exclusively use ARCA for all of my bipods. The entire stock swap and trigger upgrade took about five minutes. I simply had to remove the action screw, center the safety, and remove the barreled action.

Two pins hold the trigger in place. I held the bolt back while I drove out the two pins, releasing the entire assembly. (I used a 5/32 Allen key as a centering tool.)

I looked through my scope collection and mounted an Element Nexus Gen 2 4-25 x 50 FFP. I did have to remove the rear sight to accommodate the lower rings I was using. I also added a Phodera rimfire suppressor and bipod.

Shooting
I sighted in the rifle behind the shop at 50 yards, using a bipod and rear bag from the prone position.

Once I zeroed the scope, it was immediately apparent that this rifle could shoot. Out of curiosity, I decided to shoot two five-shot groups at 50 yards with Lapua Center-X. The best group measured 0.211″!

It was great fun to run the Caldwell KYL rimfire target.

I also shot some steel from a tripod.

Shooting rimfire suppressed is a unique experience as you can hear every impact’s steel signature without the harmful noise levels of gunfire.
