About the WOOX High Grade Series
WOOX created the High Grade Series with the goal of being passed on and treasured for generations. The collection includes three of WOOX’s most popular stocks, retaining their same weight, ergonomics, performance, and features, but with an elevated aesthetic.

These stocks are crafted from a Grade 3 oiled walnut, which has a richer grain, darker accents, and more character than the originals.

The cost premium is about $200 higher than the original models and they are only sold as a complete package for lever actions and shotguns. The Superleggera bolt-action stock is a single piece.
From WOOX:

High Grade represents the highest level of WOOX craftsmanship, made from carefully selected High Grade American Walnut known for its rich grain, depth, and natural warmth. Each stock and forend set is uniquely matched, with natural variations that ensure no two pieces are ever the same.
Every set is finished by hand using a traditional oil treatment that enhances the wood’s character while preserving a natural, satin feel that improves with time. The High Grade Line focuses on authentic value—exceptional materials, artisan finishing, and timeless design—balanced with WOOX performance standards.
Our High Grade Series is offered as a complete kit for Bravado, Gladiatore, and Superleggera.
Walnut vs. High Grade Walnut
Not all walnut is created equal. The distinction between Walnut and High Grade American Walnut defines the difference between a lightweight functional component and a refined expression of craftsmanship. Walnut offers natural beauty, strength, and reliable performance, with a more uniform grain, color, and contrast.

High Grade American Walnut represents the most refined material selection and artisan finishing. Each stock is inherently unique, showcasing rich, expressive grain patterns and warm tones shaped by nature. To enhance and protect this exceptional wood, WOOX artisans apply a hand-applied oil finish, bringing depth, clarity, and a smooth satin feel that becomes warmer and more tactile over time. Handcrafted. Lightweight. Uniquely yours.
Both options are exceptional, each with its own charm and character.
The choice is yours.
Transforming a Henry X Model
We’ve previously outfitted a Henry X Model 45-70 with WOOX’s original Bravado.
We decided to also transform our Henry X Model 30-30 to do a direct comparison!

I laid out all of the pieces on a soft towel to protect the finish, which has an entirely different appearance from the standard line, and brought out my Wheeler gunsmithing tool set.

The installation process for the High Grade Bravado matches the standard Bravado installation process I detailed in my previous story.

Keep in mind you will spend approximately three times as much time on the forend installation compared to the buttstock installation.

One of the great features of the Henry X Model is the threaded muzzle.

I added a BANISH Backcountry suppressor as well as the new Element Optics Theos 2-10×42 FFP scope to fully outfit the rifle.

Shooting lever guns is always fun. I continue to enjoy the adjustable cheekpiece and skeletonized recoil pad present on the Bravado, but in an even prettier package.

Conclusion
The WOOX High Grade walnut is truly exceptional and something that doesn’t just perform on the range but would look amazing on display.

I’m eager to find a good place to hang it and continue to shoot with it!
