Scope mounts are generally an afterthought after you buy the rifle and the optic, but what you select matters. Today I’m taking a look at Hawkins Precision’s Long Range Hybrid Rings.

About Hawkins Precision Long Range Hybrid Scope Rings
One of the advantages of Hawkins Precision’s long range hybrid scope rings is that they do not require a rail, but come with a 25 MOA cant and integral bubble level.
This design allows you to save weight – especially critical while hunting and for certain disciplines.
From Hawkins Precision:
There is nothing on the market that compares with the Hawkins Precision Long-Range Hybrid Rings. These lightweight rings are a direct-mount, robust, 25 MOA solution for your lightweight hunting rifle. CNC-machined in the USA out of a single billet of 6061 aluminum, the Long-Range Hybrid Rings weigh between 3 oz. and 4 oz. and feature an anti-cant level cap. These are currently available for Remington 700, Defiance, Stiller, Impact Precision, Kelbly, Kauger Arms, Tikka, and Lone Peak, Mesa Precision actions with built in 25 MOA. Available in 30mm and 34mm.
Each ring base has two screws that secure it to the rifle action. I added some Loctite as I mounted them on my Bergara Ridge Carbon Wilderness 6.5 Creedmoor.
After the bases were mounted, I set the optic, a Leupold VX-5HD 3-15×44, established the eye relief and torqued the ring caps on.
Conclusion
Not all guns come with a Picatinny rail – using the Hawkins Precision long range hybrid scope rings means one less thing to buy. They also help save on weight, making them ideal for hunting!
